| 4 | 4 | | chair for the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha |

| 5 | 5 | | Sorority, Incorporated; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Alpha Sorority was established on June 6, 1929; through programs |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | of service, the chapter has long worked to encourage young women |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | to develop high standards of character and to strive for |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | excellence in educational achievement; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Cheryl Benson is a loyal Alpha Kappa Alpha |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sorority member who has served as a mentor and role model to |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | countless sisters, and she has played an integral role in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | numerous Alpha Xi Omega Chapter programs and events; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Cheryl Benson is truly deserving of recognition |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | for helping the chapter to fulfill its mission of service and for |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | her exemplary leadership as the Founders' Day chair; now, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | therefore, be it |

| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |

| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby commend Cheryl Benson on her many |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | contributions to the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa |

| 22 | 22 | | Alpha Sorority and extend to her best wishes in all her future |
