| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Amber Anderson Mostyn, who is being honored at the 2017 |

| 4 | 4 | | Annie's List Houston Luncheon; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Amber Mostyn is a native of Fort Worth and a |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | graduate of Trinity Valley School; she earned degrees in Spanish |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and anthropology from Vanderbilt University and worked for a time |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | in Washington, D.C., before returning to Texas and earning a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | degree from The University of Texas School of Law; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, While attending law school, she excelled in trial |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | advocacy and received numerous awards and honors, including |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | induction into the prestigious Order of the Barristers; she |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | currently practices law in the fields of personal injury and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | wrongful death, and she has also served as an adjunct professor |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | at Texas Wesleyan Law School and the South Texas College of Law |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Houston; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, She has made extraordinary investments of her |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | time and energy in support of the goals of Annie's List, and her |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | successes in the field of electoral politics have served as an |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | inspiration to countless organizers and candidates; she is also a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | proud supporter of educational foundations and programs that |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | have a positive impact on our state; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Amber Mostyn is a leading Houstonian with an |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | influential role in the political arena in Texas, and it is truly |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | fitting that she receive special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Amber Anderson Mostyn on her many |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | achievements and extend to her best wishes for continued success |

| 29 | 29 | | in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
