                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 476
 In Memory
 of
 Bobby G. Yancey
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
 commemorates the life of Bobby G. Yancey, who died March 6, 2017,
 at the age of 81; and
 WHEREAS, Bobby Yancey was born on September 17, 1935, in
 Magnolia; he graduated from Montgomery High School in 1954 and
 from Sam Houston State University in 1958; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Yancey was elected to serve as justice of the
 peace and county commissioner for Montgomery County; at the time,
 he was the youngest judge to have ever been elected in the State
 of Texas, and he served with distinction from 1960 to 1970; and
 WHEREAS, Bobby also enjoyed a life of entrepreneurial
 success; in 1969, he opened Conroe Concrete, a company that is still
 running strong today; in 1990, he purchased Hockley Livestock,
 and he operated the business until 2000; he spent the last 20 years
 of his life ranching in Limestone, Falls, and Houston Counties; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Yancey shared 60 years of marriage with Jo Ann
 Yancey, and they were blessed with four children, 11 grandchildren,
 and five great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, A distinguished member of his community, Bobby
 Yancey touched the lives of others through his kindness, his
 humor, and his boundless generosity; he was beloved by many, and
 he leaves behind memories that will long be cherished by all who
 were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Bobby G. Yancey; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Bobby Yancey.
