| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Throughout its history, the State of Texas has |

| 3 | 3 | | maintained a commitment to the principle of private property |

| 4 | 4 | | rights, and since its creation in 1920, the Texas Association of |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Realtors and its members have supported this vital principle; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Each day, Texas realtors provide valuable |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | professional services and information that empower their fellow |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Texans to buy, sell, lease, develop, and manage residential and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | commercial real estate in a knowledgeable and confident manner |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | while helping preserve the free enterprise system and the right |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | to own real property; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, Texas realtors have worked |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | diligently within the regulatory process to promote and raise the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | caliber of their business practices, and the term "realtor" has |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | come to symbolize competence, integrity, and a high regard for |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | ethics; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The more than 110,000 members of the Texas |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Association of Realtors have consistently advocated for |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | responsible government, as well as for the entrepreneurial |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | spirit that is the backbone of our state's economy, and its |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | members are indeed worthy of special recognition at this time; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby recognize April 4, 2017, as Texas Realtor |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Appreciation Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | to members of the Texas Association of Realtors on the occasion |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | of their visit to the State Capitol; and, be it further |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 29 | 29 | | the Texas Association of Realtors as an expression of esteem from |
