| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Sam Houston State University Bearkats football |

| 4 | 4 | | team and its head coach, K. C. Keeler; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Bearkats, under the exceptional leadership of |

| 6 | 6 | | Coach Keeler, went undefeated in the regular season, won the |

| 7 | 7 | | Southland Conference title, and advanced to the National |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Collegiate Athletic Association's Football Championship |

| 9 | 9 | | Subdivision playoffs; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, In recognition of the team's outstanding success, |

| 11 | 11 | | Coach Keeler was named the recipient of the Eddie Robinson Award, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | which is given annually to the coach of the year in the NCAA |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Football Championship Subdivision; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Coach Keeler and the 2016 Bearkats have continued |

| 15 | 15 | | a tradition of athletic success for Sam Houston State University, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and it is truly fitting that they receive special recognition; |

| 17 | 17 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 18 | 18 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |

| 19 | 19 | | Legislature, hereby commend the Sam Houston State University |

| 20 | 20 | | Bearkats and head coach K. C. Keeler on their outstanding season |

| 21 | 21 | | and extend best wishes to all those involved with the team for |
