| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the 183rd Recon Aviation Company on the occasion of its |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | 2017 reunion, which is being held in Bryan-College Station; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The veterans of the 183rd Recon Aviation Company |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | served with distinction in Vietnam from 1966 until the end of the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | war; members have created a nonprofit organization to preserve |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the company's history for future generations, to honor its lost |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | members, and to renew and maintain the relationships forged |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | during their wartime service; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The company goes under the call sign "Seahorse"; |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | during the war, eight of its members made the ultimate sacrifice |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | for their nation, and one is still listed as missing in action; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The 2017 reunion will feature a wide range of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | activities for members and their families, including a performance |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | by the Texas A&M University Singing Cadets, visits to the Museum |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | of the American G.I. and the George Bush Presidential Library and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Museum, and a memorial service at the Brazos Valley Veterans |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Memorial; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The members of the 183rd Recon Aviation Company |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | are part of the long line of courageous men and women whose |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | service and sacrifice have left a lasting mark on the world, and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | it is truly fitting that they receive special recognition; now, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the 183rd Recon |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Aviation Company on their exceptional service to the nation and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | extend to them best wishes for a memorable 2017 reunion; and, be |
