| 4 | 4 | | leadership program of the Northwest Metroport Chamber of |

| 5 | 5 | | Commerce, on the occasion of their visit to the Capitol on |

| 6 | 6 | | March 29, 2017; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The Northwest Metroport Chamber of Commerce has |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | developed this outstanding program to help aspiring leaders |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | develop the skills they need to make their community a better |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | place to live; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Participants in the program develop leadership |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | skills by collaborating on issues that affect the region and by |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | building key relationships with experienced civic leaders and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | policy makers; they join the ranks of other leadership groups in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Texas that enhance the entrepreneurial, cultural, and governmental |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | capacities of our state; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, By working diligently to foster an engaged |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | citizenry and to develop a new generation of leaders, Leadership |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Northwest Metroport is helping to build a brighter and more |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | prosperous future for residents of the region; members of the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | first graduating class can indeed take pride in their exemplary |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | contributions to their community; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the first class of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Regional Advantage--Leadership Northwest Metroport for their |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | civic leadership and engagement and extend to them best wishes |

| 27 | 27 | | for a memorable visit to the Capitol; and, be it further |
