55 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
66 citizens of Navasota in mourning the loss of John Millard Fultz,
77 who died March 20, 2017, at the age of 66; and
88 WHEREAS, John Fultz was born on August 4, 1950; he touched
99 the lives of others with his warmth, his boundless generosity,
1010 and his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; and
1111 WHEREAS, He graduated as the salutatorian of the Navasota
1212 High School Class of 1968, and he went on to graduate from The
1313 University of Texas at Austin in 1972 and from the South Texas
1414 College of Law in 1977; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. Fultz returned to Navasota in 1978 to practice
1616 law with his mother and stepfather at Fultz and Davis Attorneys at
1717 Law, and later, he continued his family's legacy by serving as
1818 counsel for Mid-South Electric Cooperative Association; he was a
1919 Fellow of the Texas Bar Association and a member of the Grimes
2020 County Bar Association, and he served as the city attorney for the
2121 Cities of Todd Mission and Navasota; and
2222 WHEREAS, A distinguished member of his community, Mr. Fultz
2323 was active in numerous civic and community organizations,
2424 including the Masonic Navasota Lodge, the Scottish Rite Lodge, the
2525 Navasota Theater Alliance, and Kiwanis International; he was a man
2626 guided by his faith, and he served as treasurer and deacon at the
2727 First Baptist Church of Navasota; and
2828 WHEREAS, John Fultz was devoted to his wife, Kathy, and to
2929 his children and grandchildren, and he cherished time spent with
3030 his family; he was beloved by many, and he leaves behind memories
3131 that will long be held dear by all who were privileged to share in
3232 his life; now, therefore, be it
3333 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
3434 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
3535 family of John Millard Fultz; and, be it further
3636 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
3737 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
3838 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
3939 memory of John Fultz.
