| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Regina L. Parker, who retired from the Texas Education |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | Agency on December 31, 2016, after 29 years of exemplary state |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | service; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Regina Parker began her career with the state in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 1988, when she joined the Texas Department of Commerce; she |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | transferred to the Texas Department of Economic Development in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 2001, and she continued her work with the department when it was |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | moved in 2003 to the Office of the Governor's Economic |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Development and Tourism Division; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In February of 2006, Regina accepted a position |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | with the Texas Education Agency; for more than 10 years, she |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | managed and coordinated the process for adopting State Board for |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Educator Certification rules; during her tenure with the agency, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | she filed more than 1,870 rule actions with the Texas Register; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Regina handled her many |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication; she |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | was respected and admired by her colleagues, and her presence at |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the Texas Education Agency will be greatly missed; now, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend Regina L. Parker on her many |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | contributions to the state and extend to her best wishes in all |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | her future endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
