| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Officer Tina Taylor of the Deer Park Police Department |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | for her exceptional work in the community; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Officer Taylor is the crime prevention officer |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | for the Deer Park Police Department; in this capacity, she builds |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and maintains relationships with citizens and public entities |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | across the city; in addition, she disseminates information |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | through various communication channels, including the city's |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | website, social media, and public meetings; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Her many important duties include managing the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | department's numerous successful community programs; she has |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | also instituted a Vacation Safety School program for young |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | people, which teaches youth about such subjects as gun safety, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | stranger danger, 9-1-1, fire safety, and bullying prevention and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | awareness; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, She has been instrumental in promoting better use |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of emerging Internet technology by helping the city to establish |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | a Facebook page for the police department and by working to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | implement improvements to the city's website; she has led an |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | effort to create numerous public service announcement videos |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | that have served to educate the public about a variety of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | issues; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, She is active in a wide range of community |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | organizations and outreach efforts, including the Bay Area |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Council on Drugs and Alcohol, the Citizen's Police Academy, Teens |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | in the Driver Seat, and National Night Out, and she has hosted the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Greater Houston Area Safe Kids April Pools Day; she has twice |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | been named the state's Crime Prevention Specialist of the Year; |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Legislature, hereby commend Officer Tina Taylor on her many |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | contributions to the Deer Park community and extend to her best |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 36 | 36 | | her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
