| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Eddie Janek on the occasion of his 90th birthday; and |

| 4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, A man of wisdom and strong character, Eddie Janek |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | is well known for his generosity of spirit, and he is a revered |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | citizen of our state; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Eddie Janek was born April 22, 1927, in West, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Texas; he served the nation with distinction in the United States |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Navy during World War II; he was attached to the United States |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | First Marine Division and fought in the Battle of Peleliu; he |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | also served in the navy during the Korean War; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, He has lived through times and experienced events |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | that many people only know from history books; his life has given |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | him a unique perspective on current events, and there is much to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | be learned from the insights he has gained over the years; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, He is beloved and respected by many, and he served |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | his community as a Galveston County commissioner; Mr. Janek |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | inspires those around him by his loyalty and patriotism and by |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Eddie Janek and extend to him |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | best wishes for a memorable 90th birthday celebration; and, be |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | it further |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
