| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Sylvia Kay Daves of the Texas Workforce Commission for |

| 4 | 4 | | her 50 years of exceptional service to the state; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sylvia Daves began her career in state service on |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | April 21, 1967, as a member of the stenographic pool at the Texas |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Employment Commission; she was quickly promoted to administrative |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | technician at the request of Commissioner Joe D. Gunn; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, She went on to serve under several commissioners |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | representing labor, and after TEC became the Texas Workforce |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Commission, she eventually worked as a project administrative |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | technician with the Integrated Enrollment and Services Project; |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | since 1999, she has served as an administrative assistant in the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Grant Administration department; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, she has handled her many |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | responsibilities with efficiency, dedication, and scrupulous |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | attention to detail; she is known for her versatility and support |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of her co-workers, as well as for her willingness to take the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | initiative to further the mission of the agency; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, she is respected and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | admired by her colleagues, and it is truly fitting that she |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | receive special recognition for her commitment to public service; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend Sylvia Kay Daves on 50 years of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | outstanding service to the people of Texas and extend to her |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be |
