| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed |

| 3 | 3 | | cause for celebration, and Rita Polland is marking this |

| 4 | 4 | | significant milestone in her life on April 21, 2017; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Born in 1927, Mrs. Polland is not a native of the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Lone Star State, but after residing within its borders in 1968, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | she resolved to return one day; she achieved that commendable |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | goal in 2015; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Polland was employed as a secretary until |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | her retirement; sensible and levelheaded, she has lovingly |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | guided several generations of descendants, and today she |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | rejoices in her role as matriarch of a large extended family; she |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | sets an example for others as an active citizen; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Rita Polland is a source of tremendous |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | inspiration, and in sharing the experience gained through nine |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | decades of life well lived, she bestows a precious gift of wisdom |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | that benefits all who are fortunate enough to know her; now, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Rita Polland on the joyous |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | occasion of her 90th birthday and extend to her sincere best |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
