5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The tragic death of Kathy Staples Boobar of Plano |

6 | 6 | | on June 20, 2016, at the age of 49, brought profound sorrow to the |

7 | 7 | | family of this cherished wife, mother, daughter, and sister and |
---|
8 | 8 | | to the many other people whose lives she touched; and |
---|
9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on April 18, |
---|
10 | 10 | | 1967, to Harold Staples and Beverly McCormack, the former Kathy |
---|
11 | 11 | | Staples grew up with the companionship of two sisters, Karen and |
---|
12 | 12 | | Lane; she embraced her adopted state of Texas, where she received |
---|
13 | 13 | | a finance degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1989; |
---|
14 | 14 | | after graduating, she was employed for 26 years with Fiduciary |
---|
15 | 15 | | Financial Services Wealth Management in Dallas, beginning in an |
---|
16 | 16 | | entry-level position and eventually being named president of the |
---|
17 | 17 | | company in 2014; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In addition to excelling in her professional |
---|
19 | 19 | | responsibilities, Kathy Boobar benefited many organizations |
---|
20 | 20 | | through her volunteer work, including the Junior League of Collin |
---|
21 | 21 | | County and the Plano Area Chapter of the National Charity League; |
---|
22 | 22 | | moreover, she served as a board member and treasurer for the |
---|
23 | 23 | | Legacy Chapter of the Women's Auxiliary to Children's Medical |
---|
24 | 24 | | Center Plano, and she volunteered countless hours of her time in |
---|
25 | 25 | | behalf of her congregation at ParkwayHills Baptist Church; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, This dynamic woman enjoyed the love and support of |
---|
27 | 27 | | her husband, Tim Boobar, and she was a devoted and nurturing |
---|
28 | 28 | | mother to her daughter, Carly; she was known for her bright smile |
---|
29 | 29 | | and for the kindness that she showed others through her words and |
---|
30 | 30 | | deeds, and when she was not volunteering, she found fulfillment |
---|
31 | 31 | | in traveling and spending time with those dearest to her; and |
---|
32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Although her passing is an immeasurable loss to |
---|
33 | 33 | | her community and to those who shared in the blessing of her life, |
---|
34 | 34 | | Kathy Boobar's example of charity, love, and selfless generosity |
---|
35 | 35 | | will forever remain a source of inspiration; now, therefore, be it |
---|
36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
---|
37 | 37 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Kathy Staples |

38 | 38 | | Boobar and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of her |
---|
39 | 39 | | family: to her husband, Tim Boobar; to her daughter, Carly |

40 | 40 | | Boobar; to her mother, Beverly McCormack; to her father, Harold |
