55 WHEREAS, The tragic death of Kathy Staples Boobar of Plano
66 on June 20, 2016, at the age of 49, brought profound sorrow to the
77 family of this cherished wife, mother, daughter, and sister and
88 to the many other people whose lives she touched; and
99 WHEREAS, Born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on April 18,
1010 1967, to Harold Staples and Beverly McCormack, the former Kathy
1111 Staples grew up with the companionship of two sisters, Karen and
1212 Lane; she embraced her adopted state of Texas, where she received
1313 a finance degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1989;
1414 after graduating, she was employed for 26 years with Fiduciary
1515 Financial Services Wealth Management in Dallas, beginning in an
1616 entry-level position and eventually being named president of the
1717 company in 2014; and
1818 WHEREAS, In addition to excelling in her professional
1919 responsibilities, Kathy Boobar benefited many organizations
2020 through her volunteer work, including the Junior League of Collin
2121 County and the Plano Area Chapter of the National Charity League;
2222 moreover, she served as a board member and treasurer for the
2323 Legacy Chapter of the Women's Auxiliary to Children's Medical
2424 Center Plano, and she volunteered countless hours of her time in
2525 behalf of her congregation at ParkwayHills Baptist Church; and
2626 WHEREAS, This dynamic woman enjoyed the love and support of
2727 her husband, Tim Boobar, and she was a devoted and nurturing
2828 mother to her daughter, Carly; she was known for her bright smile
2929 and for the kindness that she showed others through her words and
3030 deeds, and when she was not volunteering, she found fulfillment
3131 in traveling and spending time with those dearest to her; and
3232 WHEREAS, Although her passing is an immeasurable loss to
3333 her community and to those who shared in the blessing of her life,
3434 Kathy Boobar's example of charity, love, and selfless generosity
3535 will forever remain a source of inspiration; now, therefore, be it
3636 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
3737 Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Kathy Staples
3838 Boobar and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of her
3939 family: to her husband, Tim Boobar; to her daughter, Carly
4040 Boobar; to her mother, Beverly McCormack; to her father, Harold
4141 Staples, and his wife, Patty; to her sister, Lane Anderson; and
4242 to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
4343 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
4444 her family as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
