SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 671
WHEREAS, Tyler Beverages is being presented with a Lone
Star Safety Award by the Texas Department of Insurance Division
of Workers' Compensation on May 24, 2017; and
WHEREAS, The Lone Star Safety Award recognizes Texas
employers who have implemented an effective safety program, kept
injury incidence rates below the national average for the previous
three years, and prevented work-related fatalities within the past
12 months; honorees are typically asked to give presentations for
industry associations, mentor other organizations, serve on panels
concerning safety and health issues, or participate in the Texas
Safety Summit; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1954, Tyler Beverages is a bottler and
distributor of soft drinks and other beverages and a packager and
wholesaler of bagged and block ice; the company employs a staff
of some 90 workers across a service area covering eight counties
in East Texas; this outstanding enterprise received high marks
from the Lone Star Safety Program for its exemplary workplace
safety and health management systems and for its low incidence
rates of work-related injuries and illnesses, as well as for its
participation in the Texas Department of Insurance Occupational
Safety and Health Consultation program; and
WHEREAS, Tyler Beverages has demonstrated an exceptional
commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, and it is truly
deserving of this prestigious accolade; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby congratulate Tyler Beverages on its receipt of
a Lone Star Safety Award and extend to all those associated with the
company sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
business as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
