| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Lone Star Safety Award recognizes Texas |

| 6 | 6 | | employers who have implemented an effective safety program, kept |

| 7 | 7 | | injury incidence rates below the national average for the previous |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | three years, and prevented work-related fatalities within the past |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 12 months; honorees are typically asked to give presentations for |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | industry associations, mentor other organizations, serve on panels |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | concerning safety and health issues, or participate in the Texas |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Safety Summit; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 1954, Tyler Beverages is a bottler and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | distributor of soft drinks and other beverages and a packager and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | wholesaler of bagged and block ice; the company employs a staff |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of some 90 workers across a service area covering eight counties |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | in East Texas; this outstanding enterprise received high marks |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | from the Lone Star Safety Program for its exemplary workplace |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | safety and health management systems and for its low incidence |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | rates of work-related injuries and illnesses, as well as for its |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | participation in the Texas Department of Insurance Occupational |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Safety and Health Consultation program; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Tyler Beverages has demonstrated an exceptional |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, and it is truly |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | deserving of this prestigious accolade; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Tyler Beverages on its receipt of |

| 28 | 28 | | a Lone Star Safety Award and extend to all those associated with the |

| 29 | 29 | | company sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
