| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the members of Our Lady of the Rivers Court 2376 of the |

| 4 | 4 | | Catholic Daughters of the Americas on the occasion of the court's |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | 25th anniversary; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Catholic Daughters of the Americas |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | organization was established in 1903 and is one of the oldest and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | largest organizations of Catholic women in the Americas; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Our Lady of the Rivers Court 2376 was founded on |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | March 22, 1992, at Sacred Heart Parish in Three Rivers, Texas; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Sheryl Henry played an instrumental role in forming the local court, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and she helped guide the organization as its first regent; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Today, the court has 32 members, several of whom |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | represent the second or third generation of their families among |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the membership, and together, they uphold the national |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | organization's motto of "Unity and Charity"; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Members of Our Lady of the Rivers Court 2376 give |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of their time and talent to serve their parish and their |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | community; among their many contributions, they help plan key |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | church functions, award scholarships to local high school |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | seniors, and gather donations for nursing homes and local |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | charities; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, The Catholic Daughters of the Americas are united |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | in service by their faith, and the members of Our Lady of the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Rivers Court 2376 reach out with helping hands to tend to the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | parish, the community, and those in need; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of Our Lady of the Rivers |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Court 2376 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas for their |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | many contributions to the community and extend to them |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | congratulations on the court's 25th anniversary; and, be it |
|---|
