| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Alan McGraw, who is stepping down as mayor of the City |

| 4 | 4 | | of Round Rock in May of 2017, after 16 years of exemplary civic |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | service; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Alan McGraw was elected to the Round Rock City |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Council in 2001, and he ran unopposed for mayor in 2008; he is an |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | admired public leader who helped oversee a period of notable |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | growth and development in Round Rock that set the city on a course |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | for long-term prosperity; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his years of service, Mayor McGraw |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | focused on bringing jobs to the city, keeping citizens safe |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | through the support of public-safety officials, and improving |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | transportation and quality of life for Round Rock citizens; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, He helped guide numerous local initiatives, and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | he is noted for his role in economic development decisions that |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | brought major businesses and retail outlets to the Round Rock |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | area and helped the city thrive; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mayor McGraw is a highly respected member of the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | community, and he has diligently worked to make the City of Round |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Rock an ideal place in which to live and raise a family; now, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend City of Round Rock Mayor Alan McGraw |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | for his outstanding service on behalf of the citizens of Round |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Rock and extend to him best wishes in all his future endeavors; |
