| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Tony Romo for his many achievements; and |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, Tony Romo was the starting quarterback for the |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Dallas Cowboys from 2006 through 2015; he joined the Cowboys |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | after playing for Eastern Illinois University, where he led his |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | team to an Ohio Valley Conference championship and was named the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | recipient of the Walter Payton Award; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his stellar professional |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | football career, he set numerous Cowboys team records, including |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | most passing touchdowns and most passing yards, most games with |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | at least 300 passing yards, and most games with three or more |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | touchdown passes; his 97.1 passer rating is the fourth-highest in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | National Football League history and the highest among retired |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | players; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, He played his entire career with the Dallas |

| 17 | 17 | | Cowboys and led the team to four appearances in the playoffs, and |

| 18 | 18 | | he was named to the Pro Bowl four times; his many contributions to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex community include work with the |

| 20 | 20 | | United Way, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Society for the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Tony Romo has been an exceptional role model for |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the young people of Texas, and it is truly fitting that he receive |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend Tony Romo on his outstanding |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | professional football career and his engagement in the community |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his |
|---|
