| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Jacoba Hampton, who is retiring from a distinguished |

| 4 | 4 | | career as a history teacher at Oliveira Middle School; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Throughout her teaching career, Jacoba Hampton |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | has been an innovative, resourceful, and enthusiastic educator, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and she has remained dedicated to helping her students find their |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | path to success; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Hampton has taught world, Texas, and American |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | history in the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades at Oliveira |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Middle School, and she has helped guide the history program in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | her role as head of the history department; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A positive influence in the lives of her students, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Mrs. Hampton has given generously of her time and energy to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | assist students with their studies, and she has instilled in them |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | a sense of pride and a lifelong love of learning; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Jacoba Hampton has contributed to the success of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Oliveira Middle School through her leadership and extracurricular |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | volunteerism, and she has armed her pupils with the skills they |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | need to compete in the society of tomorrow; the Brownsville |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | community has greatly benefited from the diligence and hard work |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | of this talented educator; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend Jacoba Hampton for her outstanding |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | contributions to Oliveira Middle School and extend to her best |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | wishes in all her endeavors; and, be it further |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her |
