                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 754
 In Memory
 of
 Thais Hamm Cochran
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
 commemorates the life of Thais Hamm Cochran, who died May 5,
 2017, at the age of 90; and
 WHEREAS, Thais Cochran was born on July 18, 1926, in New
 Orleans, Louisiana, to Lawrence and Alma Hamm; she graduated from
 Redemptorist High School in New Orleans; and
 WHEREAS, Thais and her beloved husband of 55 years, the
 late John Alexander Cochran Jr., raised four children together,
 Dianne Schlosser, Linda Kuntz, John Alexander Cochran III, and
 Kasey Bowen; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren were
 a source of much pride and joy; and
 WHEREAS, She was an avid tennis player and took great
 pleasure in her matches as a member of the North Country Women's
 Tennis League; she also enjoyed playing card games and taking
 trips to the casino with her friends; and
 WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practiced her faith in her
 daily life, she was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church
 for 50 years; and
 WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she
 gave unselfishly to others, and her wisdom, her generous spirit,
 and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be
 forgotten; and
 WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother,
 and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by
 her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Thais Hamm Cochran; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
 family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate
 and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
 Thais Hamm Cochran.
