5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |

6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Robert Gene Brashear, who died |
---|
7 | 7 | | April 27, 2017, at the age of 70; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Robert Brashear was born on July 11, 1946, in |
---|
9 | 9 | | Elsa, Texas, to Louis Edward Brashear and Lena Marie McCormick; |
---|
10 | 10 | | he and his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Patricia Jo Brashear, |
---|
11 | 11 | | were blessed with two children, Chrystl Laureen Grebo and Cedric |
---|
12 | 12 | | Latimer Brashear; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Brashear enjoyed a fulfilling, 37-year career |
---|
14 | 14 | | as an educator with the Raymondville Independent School |
---|
15 | 15 | | District, and his passion for teaching science had a positive |
---|
16 | 16 | | impact on the lives of countless area students; he was an active |
---|
17 | 17 | | member of the Association of Texas Professional Educators for |
---|
18 | 18 | | over 30 years; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, He was an avid outdoorsman, and he operated an |
---|
20 | 20 | | outfitting business specializing in hunting and fishing gear; he |
---|
21 | 21 | | was a published author and photographer, and his independent |
---|
22 | 22 | | publication, South Texas Outdoor Newsletter, received awards for |
---|
23 | 23 | | its coverage of outdoor recreation in Texas; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he |
---|
25 | 25 | | gave unselfishly to others, and his generous spirit, his love of |
---|
26 | 26 | | science and the outdoors, and his enthusiasm for living each day |
---|
27 | 27 | | to the fullest will not be forgotten by those who were privileged |
---|
28 | 28 | | to have known him; and |
---|
29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband and father, and he leaves |
---|
30 | 30 | | behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and |
---|
31 | 31 | | many friends; now, therefore, be it |
---|
32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
---|
33 | 33 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
---|
34 | 34 | | family of Robert Gene Brashear; and, be it further |
---|
35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

36 | 36 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |

37 | 37 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
