| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | of Laredo in mourning the loss of Roberto Mendoza, who died on |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | January 15, 2017; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Roberto Mendoza was born in Islitas to Pascual and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Julia Fuentes Mendoza; he was raised in Laredo, and he attended |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Martin High School; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, For 26 years, Mr. Mendoza was dedicated to his |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | work as a custodian for the Laredo Independent School District; |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | he was well known for his hard work and for his outgoing and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | charismatic personality; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, He was devoted to his loving wife, Juana Castillo |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Mendoza, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage, and was blessed |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | with two sons, Roberto Mendoza Jr. and Jesus Mendoza, two daughters, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Alicia Mendoza and Juanita Mendoza, and six grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he gave |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | unselfishly to others and was beloved for his affable nature, his |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | generous spirit, and his enthusiasm for living each day to the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | fullest; he leaves behind memories that will be treasured by his |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | family and many friends; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | family of Roberto Mendoza; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | memory of Roberto Mendoza. |
