                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 772
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Conrado Lucio for his many accomplishments and for his
 42 years of service with the federal government; and
 WHEREAS, A Brownsville native, Conrado Lucio was born on
 December 13, 1932, as the youngest of 11 children; he grew up during
 the Great Depression, and his parents and siblings helped instill
 in him the value of hard work and generosity; from this foundation,
 he built a fulfilling life of service unto others; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Lucio joined the United States Air Force on
 December 20, 1951; he served with distinction for 22 years and is
 a veteran of both the Korean War and the Vietnam War; his
 organizational and management skills were highly valued in the
 military, and many of the personnel management procedures he
 developed were adopted as standard practice throughout the air
 force; over the course of his military career, he played a key
 role in establishing three new bases in Spain, and he was
 assigned to a special mission team at the Strategic Air Command
 Headquarters; he was honored with Meritorious Service and Air
 Force Commendation Medals, and in 1974, he retired to inactive
 reserve status having earned the rank of master sergeant; and
 WHEREAS, After his military service, Mr. Lucio began a
 second career with the United States Postal Service, where he
 worked for 20 years; when he retired, he had given 42 years of
 service to the United States government; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Lucio has shared 62 years of marriage with his
 beloved wife, Emma, and they were blessed with two children who
 became highly successful and respected members of their
 communities; their five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren
 are a source of immense pride and joy; and
 WHEREAS, Conrado Lucio has lived an exemplary life of
 selflessness and high standards; he is respected and admired by
 many, and he is indeed deserving of recognition for his years of
 service on behalf of his country and his fellow citizens; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
 Legislature, hereby commend Conrado Lucio for his exceptional
 public service and extend to him best wishes in all his future
 endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
