| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the El Paso DWI/Drug Court Intervention and Treatment |

| 4 | 4 | | Program and its presiding judge, the Honorable Robert S. |

| 5 | 5 | | Anchondo; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The El Paso DWI/Drug Court Intervention and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Treatment Program was founded with a mission to reduce recidivism |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | rates among alcohol and drug offenders, to enhance public safety |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | through a cost-effective continuum of care, and to provide a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | judicially supervised treatment regimen with innovative case |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | management; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The program utilizes a curriculum that inspires |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | offenders to embrace sobriety and helps offenders to create |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | fulfilling lives and become upstanding members of the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | community; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The El Paso DWI/Drug Court embraces cultural |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | identity and promotes the sharing of knowledge from a place of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | respect that invites all participants to become actively engaged |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | as members of a democratic society; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The El Paso DWI/Drug Court has made a profound |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | impact on the local community; this year, the court's program has |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | been recognized for excellence for a second time by the National |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the National Center |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | for DWI Courts; program administrators are indeed deserving of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | recognition for promoting public safety and for helping |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | vulnerable citizens to achieve their full potential; now, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby commend all who contribute to the success of |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | the El Paso DWI/Drug Court Intervention and Treatment Program for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | their efforts to better their community and extend to the personnel |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | and participants best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 34 | 34 | | this program as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
