SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 800
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Mark Wade Sheffield Sr. on the joyous occasion of his
60th birthday; and
WHEREAS, Mark Sheffield was born on June 2, 1957, in La
Chappelle, France; he grew up in Central Texas, and many of his
favorite childhood memories are from times spent in Wharton,
Texas; and
WHEREAS, In 1979, Mr. Sheffield earned a bachelor of
business administration degree in finance from The University of
Texas at Austin; he went on to build a rewarding and successful
career as a banker for independent banks around the state, and he
has been an active member of the Independent Bankers Association
of Texas for more than 25 years; and
WHEREAS, Above all things, Mark cherishes his family; he
married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Ann Parmelee, in
1980, and they were blessed with two children; fatherhood has
been his life's proudest achievement, and he instilled in his
children a love of adventure and the outdoors that he can now also
pass on to his two grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mark is an active community leader who
contributes his time and energy to a number of civic and
charitable organizations; he is beloved by many, and his birthday
is indeed cause for celebration among his family and many
friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Mark Wade
Sheffield Sr. on his 60th birthday and best wishes to him for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
