| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Mark Wade Sheffield Sr. on the joyous occasion of his |

| 4 | 4 | | 60th birthday; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Mark Sheffield was born on June 2, 1957, in La |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Chappelle, France; he grew up in Central Texas, and many of his |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | favorite childhood memories are from times spent in Wharton, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Texas; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, In 1979, Mr. Sheffield earned a bachelor of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | business administration degree in finance from The University of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Texas at Austin; he went on to build a rewarding and successful |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | career as a banker for independent banks around the state, and he |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | has been an active member of the Independent Bankers Association |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | of Texas for more than 25 years; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Above all things, Mark cherishes his family; he |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Ann Parmelee, in |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 1980, and they were blessed with two children; fatherhood has |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | been his life's proudest achievement, and he instilled in his |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | children a love of adventure and the outdoors that he can now also |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | pass on to his two grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mark is an active community leader who |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | contributes his time and energy to a number of civic and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | charitable organizations; he is beloved by many, and his birthday |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | is indeed cause for celebration among his family and many |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | friends; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Mark Wade |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Sheffield Sr. on his 60th birthday and best wishes to him for the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
