| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize STCH Ministries on the occasion of the organization's |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | 65th anniversary; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, STCH Ministries was founded in 1952 under the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | leadership of Laura Boothe and the Reverend Jess Lunsford; |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | originally known as the South Texas Children's Home, this |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | outstanding nonprofit organization has through the years created |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | a culture in which the needs of families are seen and met in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | creative and innovative ways; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, STCH Ministries continues to provide loving, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | compassionate homes for children in need, but it has expanded its |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | offerings to include such services as family counseling, homes |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | for single mothers and their children, an international |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | ministry, money management and job training, support for pastors |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and their families, and ministry consulting services to help |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | other organizations better assist their clients; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, STCH Ministries has also created two entities to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | help itself remain financially able to continue providing its |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | services, the South Texas Children's Home financial branch and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | South Texas Children's Home Land Management; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, STCH Ministries has had a profound impact on the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | lives of children and families in need for 65 years, and the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | organization is truly deserving of special recognition as it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | achieves this milestone in its history; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend the leadership and staff of STCH |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Ministries on their commitment to serving others, and extend to |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | them best wishes for a memorable 65th anniversary celebration; |
|---|
