| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Brianna Matias of Round Rock on the occasion of her |

| 4 | 4 | | graduation from the Texas School for the Deaf; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Brianna's graduation is the culmination of diligent |

| 6 | 6 | | study in a curriculum designed to challenge her and broaden her |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | knowledge; she is celebrating this milestone in commencement |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | exercises on June 1, 2017; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Brianna can take pride in having earned her |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | diploma from the Texas School for the Deaf; the school is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | respected in academic circles in Texas, as well as nationally, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | for its quality of instruction and dedication to excellence in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | teaching; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A talented and hardworking student, Brianna met |

| 15 | 15 | | her academic goals while participating in extracurricular |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | programs including swimming, cheerleading, and cross-country; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | she balanced her senior-year course load with learning about |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | job-market possibilities in part-time employment positions as a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | sales associate, a teacher's aide, and a printer specialist; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Brianna can face the future with confidence that |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | her proven abilities, learning skills, and acquired knowledge |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | will hold her in good stead for whatever vocation she chooses; now, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Brianna Matias on her graduation |

| 26 | 26 | | from the Texas School for the Deaf and extend to her best wishes |
