| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Julia J. Weng, who is retiring from the Office of the |

| 4 | 4 | | Comptroller of Public Accounts on August 31, 2017, after an |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | exemplary career in state service; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Julia Weng began her state career in May of 1992, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and she has accumulated 19 years of state accounting experience |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | working with several agencies in a variety of accounting roles; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, She has dedicated 15 years of her career with the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | state to working in general ledger and financial reporting, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | for eight of those years, she worked with the comptroller's |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | office on preparing the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | for the State of Texas; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Throughout her career, she has been noted for her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | superior organizational skills and professional expertise, and she |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | has handled her far-reaching responsibilities with exceptional |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | skill and dedication; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Julia Weng is a distinguished employee who is |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | beloved and respected by colleagues, and her presence at the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend Julia J. Weng on her exceptional |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | career and her many contributions to the state and extend to her |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | congratulations on her retirement and best wishes for continued |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | success in all her future endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
