| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Rachel Garner, who won top honors in the Women's |

| 4 | 4 | | Three-Position Smallbore Rifle competition at the National |

| 5 | 5 | | Junior Olympic Shooting Championships; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Rachel won the competition in dominating fashion |

| 7 | 7 | | over an impressive field that included an Olympic gold medalist; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | she recorded a score of 1,172 out of a possible 1,200 and earned |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | an automatic spot on the Junior World Championship team, which |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | will compete this summer in Suhl, Germany; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A student at Texas Christian University, Rachel |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | also enjoyed great success at the recent National Collegiate |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Athletic Association Rifle Championship, where she led the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Horned Frogs to a second place finish; she was subsequently named |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | for the second time as a first-team All American; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Rachel has demonstrated great talent and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | perseverance in winning this prestigious competition, and it is |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | truly fitting that she receive special recognition; now, therefore, |

| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |

| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Rachel Garner on her victory at |

| 22 | 22 | | the National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships and extend to |
