11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 864
22 WHEREAS, The Veteran Affairs and Border Security Committee
33 of the Texas Senate is tasked with handling duties relating to
44 legislation that benefits the nation's veterans and service
55 members and maintains the security of the Texas border; and
66 WHEREAS, Five college student veterans served the
77 committee with distinction during the 85th Legislature as
88 interns; over the course of the session, these veterans worked
99 tirelessly to assist the committee in its work, and their
1010 perseverance and dedication played a significant role in the
1111 committee's ability to perform its responsibilities; and
1212 WHEREAS, The interns serving the committee were Gwen
1313 Carmichael, Brad Burnett, Brandon Gajeton, Matthew Hurst, and
1414 Pedro Solis; their service was in keeping with the highest
1515 traditions of the United States armed forces, and they brought
1616 great credit to themselves, their institutions of higher
1717 education, and the military community at large; now, therefore,
1818 be it
1919 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
2020 Legislature, hereby commend the veterans who served as
2121 interns for the Veteran Affairs and Border Security Committee
2222 on their exceptional service to the Texas Senate and extend to
2323 them best wishes for continued success in all their endeavors;
2424 and, be it further
2525 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2626 them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
