2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize the members of the Abernathy High School Graduating
4	4	Class of 1967 who are gathering June 16 and 17, 2017, to celebrate
5	5	the 50th anniversary of their high school graduation; and
6	6	WHEREAS, This golden anniversary reunion will give the
7	7	1967 graduates an opportunity to reflect on the years gone by and
8	8	on the wonderful moments they shared as they prepared themselves
9	9	for the challenges of adulthood; and
10	10	WHEREAS, Abernathy High School is renowned for its
11	11	numerous fine graduates who have become outstanding citizens,
12	12	and the 1967 graduates have distinguished themselves through
13	13	their many professional accomplishments and their notable
14	14	community service endeavors; and
15	15	WHEREAS, The 1967 Abernathy High School graduating class
16	16	included the following members: Margaret Davis Adams, Andre
17	17	Anderson, Gary Benn, Alsires Betancur, Mary Ann Betts, Carolyn
18	18	Barton Boggus, Carla Collins Brown, Robert Brown, the late
19	19	Frances Burnett, the late Steve Carter, Jane Valdez DeLeon, Danny
20	20	Downs, the late Peggy Klatt Enertson, Lucy Olguin Figueroa, Carol

37	37	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
38	38	Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Abernathy High
39	39	School Graduating Class of 1967 on their many accomplishments and
40	40	extend to them best wishes for a joyful and rewarding golden
41	41	anniversary reunion; and, be it further
42	42	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an
43	43	expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
