55 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
66 commemorates the life of Natalie Cowen Gonzalez, who died
77 April 15, 2017, at the age of 43; and
88 WHEREAS, Natalie Gonzalez was born June 29, 1973, in
99 Denton; she graduated from Pace High School in Brownsville in
1010 1991 and from The University of Texas at Austin School of
1111 Journalism in 1997; and
1212 WHEREAS, Her professional life included stints in
1313 advertising and marketing, public relations, and corporate
1414 talent recruiting; she received frequent recognition for her
1515 work, and she was honored to be elected chair of the Houston
1616 Chapter of the American Advertising Federation; and
1717 WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practiced her faith in her
1818 daily life, she served as director of an Early Childhood ministry
1919 and worked as a Christian life coach; she was an avid traveler
2020 whose journeys included a mission trip to Uganda; and
2121 WHEREAS, She and her beloved husband, Ignacio Gonzalez,
2222 were blessed with two daughters, Mia and Ava; she took great
2323 pride in her family's talents and artistic endeavors; and
2424 WHEREAS, A woman of courage, grace, and compassion, she
2525 gave unselfishly to others, and her strong principles, her
2626 generous spirit, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the
2727 fullest will not be forgotten; and
2828 WHEREAS, She was a devoted daughter, wife, and mother, and
2929 she leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever by her
3030 family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
3131 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
3232 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
3333 family of Natalie Cowen Gonzalez; and, be it further
3434 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
3535 her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
3636 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
3737 memory of Natalie Cowen Gonzalez.
