| 3 | 3 | | recognize the staff and volunteers of the Arc of the Capital |

| 4 | 4 | | Area's pro bono guardianship program; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, For more than a decade, the Arc of the Capital |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Area has worked with the Travis County Probate Court and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | volunteer attorneys throughout Austin to help economically |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | disadvantaged families obtain guardianships for their loved ones |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | with intellectual and developmental disabilities; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, In the years since the program's establishment, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | attorneys have donated thousands of hours toward assisting |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | families and have established more than 150 guardianships; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The pro bono guardianship program is organized by |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | local attorney Jason Scott, who works in conjunction with Arc |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | representative Kerim Peirce and Travis County Probate Court |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | staff members Tom Ruffner and Monica Limon; the lawyers who |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | provided services through the program this year are Liesel |

| 18 | 18 | | Rickhoff, Jason Blaket Tollett, Rose Cohen, Steven Hare, Jamie |

| 26 | 26 | | and they are indeed deserving of recognition for their selfless |
|---|

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby commend all associated with the pro bono |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | guardianship program of the Arc of the Capital Area and extend to |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | them best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
