56 BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
67 Legislature, Regular Session, 2017, That Senate Rule 12.03 be
78 suspended in part as provided by Senate Rule 12.08 to enable the
8- conference committee appointed to resolve the differences on
9- Senate Bill 968 (a sexual assault policy at certain public and
10- private institutions of higher education and to requiring those

16- or senate version of the bill in SECTION 1 of the bill, in amended

1718 Section 51.9363, Education Code, to read as follows:
18- Sec. 51.9363. [CAMPUS] SEXUAL ASSAULT POLICY. (a) In
19- this section, "postsecondary educational institution" means an

39- student handbook and personnel handbook; and

44- undergraduate transfer student to attend an orientation on the
45- institution's [campus] sexual assault policy before or during
46- the first semester or term in which the student is enrolled at the
47- institution. The institution shall establish the format and
48- content of the orientation.
49- Explanation: This addition is necessary to expand to
50- private or independent institutions of higher education the
51- requirements regarding a sexual assault policy and to require the
52- policy to encompass all incidents of sexual assault, regardless
53- of whether those incidents occur on or off campus.
