| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. In addition to other amounts appropriated to the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Texas Judicial Council for the state fiscal biennium ending August |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 31, 2019, $15,795,000 is appropriated to the council for the state |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | fiscal year ending August 31, 2018, and $15,400,000 is appropriated |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | to the council for the state fiscal year ending August 31, 2019, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | from the Fair Defense Account No. 5073 for Strategy D.1.1., Texas |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Indigent Defense Commission, as listed in S.B. 1, Acts of the 85th |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Legislature, Regular Session, 2017 (the General Appropriations |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Act), for the purpose of that commission making grants to assist |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | counties in providing indigent defense services as provided by |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Section 79.037, Government Code. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | legislative session. |
