| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 1A(a), Chapter 279, Acts of the 56th | |
| 10 | 10 | Legislature, Regular Session, 1959, is amended to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (a) The Authority is subject to review under Chapter 325, | |
| 12 | 12 | Government Code (Texas Sunset Act), but may not be abolished under | |
| 13 | 13 | that chapter. The review shall be conducted under Section 325.025, | |
| 14 | 14 | Government Code, as if the Authority were a state agency scheduled | |
| 15 | 15 | to be abolished September 1, 2021 [2019], and every 12th year after | |
| 16 | 16 | that year. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 18 | 18 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 19 | 19 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 20 | 20 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 21 | 21 | Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the | |
| 22 | 22 | legislative session. |
