| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Notwithstanding Section 8, Chapter 980 (H.B. | |
| 11 | 11 | 658), Acts of the 85th Legislature, Regular Session, 2017, Sections | |
| 12 | 12 | 86.003 and 86.004, Election Code, as amended by that Act, and | |
| 13 | 13 | Chapter 107, Election Code, as added by that Act, take effect | |
| 14 | 14 | January 1, 2018. | |
| 15 | 15 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 16 | 16 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 17 | 17 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 18 | 18 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 19 | 19 | Act does not take effect. |
