77 relating to a transportation allotment credit for school districts
88 required to take action to reduce wealth per student.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 42.155, Education Code, is amended by
1111 adding Subsection (m) to read as follows:
1212 (m) A school district that is required to take action under
1313 Chapter 41 to reduce its wealth per student to the equalized wealth
1414 level is entitled to a credit, in the amount of the allotments to
1515 which the district is entitled under this section, against the
1616 total amount required under Section 41.093 for the district to
1717 purchase attendance credits. The commissioner may adopt rules
1818 necessary to implement this subsection.
1919 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017, if this
2020 Act receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each
2121 house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.
2222 If this Act does not receive the vote necessary to take effect
2323 September 1, 2017, this Act takes effect on the 91st day after the
2424 last day of the legislative session.
