| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. (a) In addition to amounts previously |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | appropriated to the Teacher Retirement System for the state fiscal |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | biennium ending August 31, 2019, for Strategy A.2.1, Retiree Health |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | - Statutory Funds, the amount of $50,000,000 is appropriated out of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the general revenue fund to that agency for the state fiscal year |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | ending August 31, 2018, and the amount of $50,000,000 is |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | appropriated out of the general revenue fund to that agency for the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | state fiscal year ending August 31, 2019. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (b) In this section, "Strategy A.2.1, Retiree Health - |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Statutory Funds" means that strategy for the Teacher Retirement |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | System as provided by S.B. 1, Acts of the 85th Legislature, Regular |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Session, 2017 (the General Appropriations Act). |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | legislative session. |
