|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Born in Miguel Aleman, Tamaulipas, Mexico, in 1945, |

| 10 | 11 | | Mr. De La Cruz gained experience as a DJ in Camargo before joining |

| 11 | 12 | | Harlingen station KGBT-AM on July 11, 1967; a few months later, he |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | received a major assignment, broadcasting information to Hispanic |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | residents as deadly Hurricane Beulah bore down on South Texas; he |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | went on to lead a humanitarian effort to Honduras following |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Hurricane Fifi, and he reported by telephone as he traveled with the |

| 16 | 17 | | five shrimp boats delivering aid; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. De La Cruz launched Football Scoreboard in 1975, |

| 18 | 19 | | and it became one of the country's highest-rated radio sports |
