| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Following a nine-month review process by Where to |

| 9 | 10 | | Retire editors, Cane Island was selected for recognition from among |

| 10 | 11 | | hundreds of communities across the country; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Established and managed by Rise Communities, Cane |

| 12 | 13 | | Island encompasses 1,100 acres and features a variety of homes for |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | young families and retirees, as well as a host of impressive |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | amenities and myriad services and activities for its residents; |

| 15 | 16 | | less than a year after it opened, the development won the 2016 |

| 16 | 17 | | Community of the Year PRISM Award from the Greater Houston Builders |

| 17 | 18 | | Association, with additional accolades for its entrance design, |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 24 | 25 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Cane Island on |

| 25 | 26 | | its selection as one of the 50 best master-planned communities in |

| 26 | 27 | | the United States by Where to Retire magazine and extend to all |

| 27 | 28 | | those involved with the community sincere best wishes for continued |
