R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Payton Freeman of White Deer High School achieved
great distinction by winning third place in the University
Interscholastic League 1A Boys Golf State Tournament, held May
22-23, 2017, in Austin; and
WHEREAS, Competing alongside other top high school golfers in
Texas at Lions Municipal Golf Course, Mr. Freeman turned in a
notable performance, posting a two-day total of 150 strokes to
claim the bronze medal; he earned his place in this elite contest
with an impressive showing at the 1A Region I tournament in Lubbock,
where he also finished third; and
WHEREAS, Through hard work, skill, and an unwavering
commitment to excellence, this talented student-athlete has ably
represented his school and scored an impressive feat that he will
remember with pride for years to come; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Payton
Freeman on his third-place win at the 2017 UIL 1A Boys Golf State
Tournament and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Freeman as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
