| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The family and friends of Rebecca J. Barnett of |

| 6 | 7 | | Pleasanton have suffered an immeasurable loss with her untimely |

| 7 | 8 | | passing on May 15, 2017, at the age of 37; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in San Antonio on April 7, 1980, Rebecca |

| 9 | 10 | | Barnett was the daughter of Terrye Ximenez and Lee Roy Meyer; after |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | graduating from Pleasanton High School in 1998, she married her |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | high school sweetheart, Jeremiah Barnett; she went on to travel |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | with him during his career in the U.S. Marine Corps, before the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | couple returned to Pleasanton to raise their family; at home in |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Atascosa County, she was employed as a deputy assessor collector in |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | the local tax office, where she cheerfully served her fellow |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | citizens for many years; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Barnett cherished her role as a mother to her |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | children, Hunter and Brandi, who brought her immense pride and joy; |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | her kind heart and playful spirit made her beloved by all who knew |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | her, and she inspired everyone around her through the courage and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | determination that she displayed in the last few years of her life; |
|---|

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Although the loss of this vibrant and caring woman |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | is difficult to bear, Rebecca Barnett brought a light into her loved |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | ones' lives that can never be extinguished, and she will forever |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |

| 29 | 30 | | of Rebecca J. Barnett and extend deepest condolences to all those |

| 30 | 31 | | who mourn her passing; and, be it further |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
