| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The untimely death of W. Tucker Keene of Dallas on |

| 6 | 7 | | June 9, 2017, at the age of 25, has brought a great loss to his |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in Massachusetts on May 16, 1992, to Will and |

| 9 | 10 | | Cindy Keene, Tucker Keene grew up with the companionship of a |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | brother, Spencer; he went on to attend Southern Methodist |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | University in Dallas, where he served as president of the SMU |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | College Republicans and managing editor of the Daily Campus |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | newspaper; after graduating with a degree in political science, he |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | joined the Dallas Young Republicans, and he subsequently took a job |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | as a field intern working for Governor Greg Abbott's 2014 campaign; |

| 16 | 17 | | he soon earned promotion to field staff and proved himself a |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | valuable asset to the campaign and to the Dallas GOP Victory Center; |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, After the election, Mr. Keene relocated to Austin to |

| 20 | 21 | | work for Delisi Communications, a consulting firm; in early 2016, |

| 21 | 22 | | he took on a new challenge when he was hired as communications |

| 22 | 23 | | director for the Republican Party of New Mexico; he continued to |

| 23 | 24 | | make a name for himself in this role, impressing those around him |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | with his energy and enthusiasm and his unwavering commitment to the |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | party's mission; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, An articulate and accomplished young man, Mr. Keene |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | was also known for being quick with a joke, and he counted good |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | food, good company, and craft beer among his greatest pleasures; in |

| 29 | 30 | | addition to his friends and family, he enjoyed the companionship of |

| 30 | 31 | | his beloved puppy, Sadie, whom he had recently welcomed into his |

| 32 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Tucker Keene |

| 33 | 34 | | will never forget his indomitable zest for life and his unwavering |

| 34 | 35 | | drive to make a difference, and he will forever hold a special place |
