| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, School boards play a crucial role in meeting the |

| 7 | 8 | | Ken Scribner is indeed deserving of recognition for his service as |

| 8 | 9 | | president of the Sanger Independent School District; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The mission of public schools throughout the state |

| 10 | 11 | | and nation is to empower children to become productive contributors |

| 11 | 12 | | to society in an ever-changing world; to that end, Mr. Scribner |

| 12 | 13 | | works closely with other school board members, as well as with |

| 13 | 14 | | parents, teachers, and community leaders, to set policies that |

| 14 | 15 | | promote a learning environment in which all students have a chance |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, This notable Texan has demonstrated a truly |

| 19 | 20 | | successful operation of Sanger ISD; now, therefore, be it |

| 20 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 21 | 22 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Ken Scribner for |

| 22 | 23 | | his service as a member of the Sanger Independent School District |

| 23 | 24 | | Board of Trustees and extend to him sincere appreciation for his |
