H.R. No. 384 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Dan Redd greatly benefited residents of Borger through his outstanding service as chief executive officer of the Borger Economic Development Corporation; and WHEREAS, For more than 10 years, Mr. Redd led the development corporation with skill and vision, furthering its mission to strengthen and diversify the city's economic base; his tireless efforts helped create jobs and bring greater prosperity to the community, and he was instrumental in the $720 million expansion of the Agrium plant in Borger; and WHEREAS, Mr. Redd grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico, and served his country in Vietnam as a combat medic with the 25th Infantry Division; twice wounded, he was awarded two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars; he studied drafting at Amarillo College and went on to earn a master's degree from West Texas A&M University; and WHEREAS, Early in his career, Mr. Redd was employed by Southwestern Public Service as a surveying engineer and draftsman, and he was responsible for marketing and national accounts; he now has a quarter-century of experience in economic development, and he has been appointed CEO of the Dickinson Economic Development Corporation; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Rachelle, with whom he has shared 50 years; and WHEREAS, Dan Redd contributed immeasurably to the economic well-being of Borger through his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence, and as he embraces new challenges and opportunities, it is indeed appropriate to honor him for his noteworthy achievements; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Dan Redd for his exemplary service as chief executive officer of the Borger Economic Development Corporation and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Redd as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
