| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, John Legg of the Dumas High School FFA chapter was |

| 6 | 7 | | presented with the Lone Star FFA Degree at the 89th annual Texas FFA |

| 7 | 8 | | State Convention held July 10-14, 2017, in Corpus Christi; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The highest degree of membership awarded at the |

| 9 | 10 | | state level, the Lone Star FFA Degree recognizes members who have |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | distinguished themselves by demonstrating exceptional commitment |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | to the organization as well as outstanding leadership skills; in |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | addition to completing the agricultural science course |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | requirements, recipients must also maintain a supervised |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | agricultural experience program, perform community service, and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | participate in a number of events, conventions, meetings, and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | activities above the chapter level; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, This exemplary young Texan has brought great pride |

| 18 | 19 | | to his family, school, and community, and he may indeed look forward |

| 19 | 20 | | with optimism and anticipation to the myriad opportunities that lie |

| 20 | 21 | | ahead; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
