5	6		WHEREAS, Kaylee Brassfield of Panhandle High School was
6	7		presented with the Lone Star FFA Degree at the 89th annual Texas FFA
7		-	State Convention held July 10-14, ~~2017~~, in Corpus Christi; and
	8	+	State Convention held July 10-14, 2016, in Corpus Christi; and
8	9		WHEREAS, The highest degree of membership awarded at the
9	10		state level, the Lone Star FFA Degree recognizes members who have
10	11		distinguished themselves by demonstrating exceptional commitment
11	12		to the organization as well as outstanding leadership skills; in
12	13		addition to completing the agricultural science course
13	14		requirements, recipients must also maintain a supervised
14	15		agricultural experience program, perform community service, and
15	16		participate in a number of events, conventions, meetings, and
16	17		activities above the chapter level; and
17	18		WHEREAS, Kaylee Brassfield has brought great pride to her
18	19		family, school, and community, and she may indeed look with
19	20		optimism and anticipation toward the myriad opportunities that lie
20	21		ahead; now, therefore, be it
21	22		RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
22	23		Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Kaylee
23	24		Brassfield on her receipt of the Lone Star FFA Degree and extend to
24	25		her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
25	26		RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
26	27		prepared for Ms. Brassfield as an expression of high regard by the
27	28		Texas House of Representatives.
